Forensic Psychiatrist providing medicolegal Psychiatry services across Melbourne and Victoria, Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom
Dr. Alan Gallogly is a Forensic Psychiatrist with dual background in Irish General Practice and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, alongside specialist Forensic Psychiatry training.
His forensic career began at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Psychiatry (Forensicare, Melbourne), a Centre of Excellence in Forensic Psychiatry training. This foundation, combined with his dual medical background, provides clinical insight into both physical medicine and Psychiatry that underpins complex medicolegal work.
This dual training provides a strong grounding in physical medicine and general medical conditions, with extensive experience assessing the psychological and psychiatric consequences of physical injuries commonly seen in WorkCover and TAC contexts, including back injuries, head injuries and orthopaedic injuries.
Over the past two decades, he has worked across healthcare systems in Australia, Ireland and the UK in both public and private sectors, including St Vincent's Hospital Dublin, Connolly Hospital, Mayo University Hospital, Monash Health and South Eastern Private Hospital. This international perspective enhances his approach to Forensic/Medicolegal Psychiatry across Australia, Ireland and the UK.

Dual medical training, international experience, and forensic specialisation support medicolegal reports that address the needs of legal proceedings. International perspective, teaching and service development inform practice that reflects current standards in medicolegal Psychiatry.
